01 · The work

What a gift keeps running

One gift to the Centre supports all five areas of our work. You can direct it to one of them if you prefer.

  1. The room today

A thousand seats. Twenty-eight young people.

Scale every national parliament down to a single chamber of 1,000 and this is who sits in it. The lit seats are members aged 30 or under.

  2. 01 · Research

    We count, country by country.

Our trackers record who young legislators are, where they win and what happens next. The Global Youth Tracker, the India Youth Tracker, the Lok Sabha 2024 Tracker and our After They Win report are free and public.

    Explore the research
  3. 02 · Convening

We bring them into one room.

The Global Emerging Leaders Forum on Democracy and the Youth and Democracy Conference put young officeholders, candidates and organisers at the same table, across parties and borders.

  4. 03 · Networks

    We keep them connected after.

Seven regional networks of young parliamentarians share what works between elections.

    • WAYPA West Africa Young Parliamentarians Network
    • CYPN CARICOM Young Parliamentarians Network
    • NYPN Nordic Young Parliamentarians Network
    • BYPN Baltic Young Parliamentarians Network
    • Balkan YPN Balkan Young Parliamentarians Network
    • PIYPN Pacific Islands Young Parliamentarians Network
    • SAYPN Southern Africa Young Parliamentarians Network
  5. 04 · In office

We help them do the job.

A new member arrives with a mandate and very little else. Staff your Office and Work with an Elected Representative place capable people beside them, so the first term is not the last.

    How placements work
  6. 05 · The world, at home

We take global cooperation back to Main Street.

Common Table brings plain, nonpartisan conversation about multilateralism to libraries, churches, schools and town halls, with young people leading the conversation.

03 · Why it matters

Independent money buys independent work.

i.

Non-partisan, on purpose

We work with young leaders from every party and none. The Centre takes no institutional positions on policy issues.

ii.

Evidence first

Our trackers are built to be checked. Unrestricted support lets us publish what we find, including the findings no funder asked for.

iii.

In it for the second term

Getting elected is the start. Most of our work begins the day after, when a young member needs staff, peers and a plan.

05 · Questions

Questions donors ask

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, in the United States. The Centre for Youth Policy is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 39-4249038. Gifts are deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for your contribution.

Can I give from outside the United States?

Yes. Cards from most countries work, and your bank converts the amount from US dollars. Gifts are generally not tax-deductible outside the US, so check the rules where you live.

When will I get a receipt?

Straight away, by email, for every gift. Monthly donors receive a receipt each month. Gifts by check or wire are receipted when they arrive.

How do I change or cancel a monthly gift?

Use the "Manage my monthly gift" button in any monthly receipt. Or enter the email you gave with your gift and we will send you a fresh link.

Is my payment secure?

Card and bank details are entered directly into Stripe's secure fields and never touch our servers. Stripe is certified to the highest level of the payment card industry standard (PCI DSS Level 1).

Can I direct my gift to one area of work?

Yes. Choose an area on the form and we will use your gift for it. Gifts for "where it's needed most" give us the most flexibility, which is why we ask for them first.

Can I give in someone's honour or memory?

Yes. Open "Dedicate this gift" on the form and add their name. It appears on your receipt.

Why do you ask me to cover the fees?

Payment processors keep roughly 3% of every gift. Covering it means the full amount you chose reaches the work. It is optional.

Is there a minimum or a maximum?

Online gifts start at $5 and go up to $50,000. For larger gifts, stock or wires, write to us.

Do you accept cryptocurrency?

Not at this time.
